VIOLETS IN A COFFEE CUP

VIOLETS

Violets, a delight to my inner being
Stand in silent beauty
The leaves bunched in colorful display
I eat breakfast and glance up
Enhanced with wonderment by this hookup
Of flowers and a coffee cup.
New flowers appear and I am thrilled
Purple beauty; one is white
I contemplate God’s unspoken meaning
At this garden site
The green leaves appear mysterious in extended greeting
While I drink a toast of coffee to our glorious morning meeting.
